JAMB Fee Support for Girls in Ojuwo Igah

At EMTAG Foundation, we believe that access to education shouldn’t end at secondary school — and that no girl should be left behind because she can’t afford an exam fee.

Our JAMB Fee Support Project for Girls in Ojuwo Igah is a new initiative designed to help girls in rural Kogi State transition to higher education by covering the full cost of their Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration.

Why This Project Matters

Every year, thousands of Nigerian students are denied access to tertiary education simply because they can’t afford to register for JAMB — the critical gateway to university or college. In remote communities like Ojuwo Igah, this reality is even more acute for girls, who often face added cultural, financial, and social barriers to continuing their education.

This project is our response to that gap. By paying the JAMB fees for eligible girls and offering basic preparatory support, we are helping to unlock opportunities for girls with the potential to do more, be more, and give more to their communities.

What the Project Covers

  • Full JAMB registration fee
  • Support with biometric registration
  • Study materials such as past question booklets and guides
  • A one-day orientation session to prepare the girls for the exam and motivate them to aim higher

Target Group

The project will support girls from Ojuwo Igah, with priority given to those from low-income households, or girls who have shown strong academic potential.

Our Goals

  • Remove financial barriers to JAMB registration
  • Raise the number of girls from Ojuwo Igah who proceed to tertiary institutions
  • Equip beneficiaries with confidence, guidance, and resources to excel
  • Spark a ripple effect that encourages parents and communities to support girls’ education
